What is the purpose of tryouts? |
In all divisions except T-Ball, tryouts & team drafts are used to equalize talent between teams and to be sure players are in a division appropriate to their skill level.
ALL players who register during regular registration WILL be placed on a team regardless of skill level. They will be either DRAFTED to a team if they attend at least 1 tryout or assigned by random drawing if they do not attend at least 1 tryout. Players who late register [after the draft] will be randomly assigned to a team only if space is available.

Does my player need to stay for the entire tryout session? |
While it is best to arrive early to get in line, your player does not need to be present for the entire tryout session. All that is required is that he or she appear sometime between the start and end time of the tryout.
The player is asked to catch and throw 3 fly balls, 3 ground balls, hit 3 pitched balls from a pitching machine, and run from home to 3rd base while being observed by team managers.
After your child completes this, he or she is done and may leave.
EXCEPTION:For Minor BB, Major BB, Junior BB, & Senior BB, players who wish to tryout for pitcher or catcher needs to stay [or return] for the end of the regular tryout session for a short pitcher and catcher tryout. Ask the personnel conducting the tryout what time to be back for pitcher or catchers tryouts.

What happens after tryouts? |
|
After tryouts, the managers get together and draft teams. The manager who selects your player will contact you directly within a few days of the final tryout for that division. ALL players are placed on a team appropriate to their age and skill level.   No player is denied the chance to play regardless of skill level.
